Happy December! I missed the deadline to join Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day, so I am hosting my own and will give away TWO dress form pincushions to my blog pals. This darling design is one of my favorites, and I have it embroidered out on a little hanging pillow which can be used for simple decoration or as a hanging pincushion near your sewing machine.
.
I think it's convenient to have a pincushion hanging on my sewing room wall, so I can poke in my threaded needles and safety pins and remember where I stowed them. You'll have a choice of fabric and thread colors, as this shot cotton is all used up!
.
Let's do all the bloggy things to offer extra chances. After you've taken care of one or all of the little adventures below, be sure to leave individual comments for each task. The contest will run through December 6, 2009, with the winner announced on December 7, 2009. (Please be sure your comment links back to your blog and/or includes your e-mail address!)
.
1. Leave a comment here.
2. Become a follower.
3. Blog about my giveaway.
4. Become a calicodaisy handmade Facebook Fan.
5. Heart my calicodaisy etsy shop.
.
Remember, if you can't wait to have one of these cushions as your own and/or don't win the giveaway, there are a couple listed in my calicodaisy etsy shop.
.
If you are a sewist yourself, you can just order the design embroidered out on the fabric of your choice and sew up your own gorgeous project. The dress form design measures 2.16" wide x 6.48" tall.
.
.
If you stop by my photo gallery embroidery designs set or the appliques and sew-outs set, you'll see a number of great designs you can order worked out on fabric to use in your own projects. Check out the "Keep Calm and Sew" embroidered panel in my shop. Order any type of monogram design, and sew up a pillow cover like the one above. It's so easy! Just give me an e-mail, and we can work out the details.

There is another giveaway going on right now. Sew Fantastic is featuring a new artist for her 12 Days of Christmas. Be sure to stop by and see who is getting chatted up and the daily prize. Jane is on today, one of my sweet blog friends. She just got in Meadowsweet fabric to her shop, and she is giving away $15.00 gift certificates through the Sew Fantastic feature.
.
Good luck with ALL the giveaways. I look forward to popping around to as many as I can myself, but mostly I look forward to hearing from you this week!
Okay. I'm in. Waaaayyyyy in! I really didn't want to do it, but my SIL forced me. She actually did it for me. That would be creating a facebook page. Sheesh! I did not want to add that to my daily computer activities! But, the kids, lots of family, and obviously a bunch of my longtime friends have been facebooking and have found me. Actually, there was a waiting list for me when I signed up. I guess folks were only hoping I would join! Ha! Probably, they had just downloaded their e-mail list into their FB searches, and I was among them. However, now that I'm in, well ..... One has to be responsible to this fantastic, nearly free (outside of the nauseating time and energy to understand it) way of advertising. Thus, I've created a calicodaisy fan page. I know this is a really great option for advertising to a whole new crowd, I just can't figure out how to use it. I think blogging is so much easier. Anyway, I'm trying to learn one new piece a day. I've become a fan of The Small Object, my One Yard Wonder book page, and some other friends' pages who aren't bloggers. I can use this tool to send out info on new calicodaisy designs, specials, giveaways, etc.
So, do you have a facebook page? A giveaway is in order to entice you to join the calicodaisy fan page. See the sweet onesie at the top of the post and 12 x 12-inch pillow cover above with the pretty vintage caged bird? One of these can be yours if you do one or all of the following -- but make sure your comment links back to your blog, or, you know, I'll have to draw again: 1. Go to your facebook page, become a fan of calicodaisy, and create a post there telling others about both my blog and fan page. Come back here and tell me that you did it. Grab this pretty picture from my flickr site to add to your post, so your friends recognize me. 2. On your blog, please post about my blog and fan page and come back here and tell me that you did that, too! Grab this pretty picture from my flickr site to add to your post, so your readers can recognize me. 3. If you know a friend of yours has became a fan, come back here and tell me who it is so I can verify. Tell your friend to stop by here, too, and leave a comment. 4. Finally, if you have any fan page set-up advice to offer me, please leave a comment for another chance. I'll run this "special" through Sunday, 07-12-2009 and let you know next week whose name is drawn. Thanks again for your support!
